What's the Last Photo On Your Phone? Almost Guaranteed to Put a Smile On Your Face

One of the neatest things about smartphones is the fact that they allow everyone who has one (so, basically everyone) to have a fairly powerful camera on them at all times. Sure, most of the cell phone pictures we take aren’t exactly works of art, but they do tell a story. What’s the last photo on your phone? There’s a fun little video making its rounds on the internet that has interactive artist Ivan Cash asking strangers in San Francisco to share the last photo they took on their phone as well as the story behind it.

What I found particularly interesting is that everyone in the video had a smile on their face when they reminiscing about the last photo on their phone, even though some of the photos were taken just a short time ago.

I thought I’d see what was the last photo on my phone. I hoped that it would be something impressive like a BTS photo of an awesome elaborate shoot, or something “aww”-worthy like a photo of my son sleeping, at least something embarrassingly funny like a duckface selfie.  Turns out it was this little gem… I chuckled to myself immediately.

It was only a few days ago but I had already forgotten about the poorly lit, blurry photo. The story behind it is this past weekend my friends and I were on a weekend trip to Montreal and we ate at a Brazilian restaurant, half way through the service, for dinner side entertainment, a carnival dancer started making her way through the restaurant accompanied by a tambourine man. With a little bit of coaxing and more than little bit of peer pressure we convinced one of my friends, a native Brazilian himself, to get up and join her. To our surprise it turns out he was quite the talented dancer. After sitting down we learned that as a twelve year old boy in Brazil, he performed in the carnival festivities Rio de Janeiro.

What’s the last photo on your phone? Whatever it is I’m almost sure it will put a smile on your face. We’d really love it if you shared the story behind it 🙂
